Code of Conduct for Events
Last updated: 8/25/2025
The Northeast Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel (“ACC Northeast”) is committed to ensuring a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment at its events.
Applicability
This Code of Conduct for Events (the “Code”) applies to anyone involved in ACC Northeast-sponsored events and social gatherings, whether in-person or hosted virtually, (collectively, “Events”) including all ACC Northeast employees, staff, volunteers, members, attendees, guests, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, vendors, and venue staff (referred to herein as “you”). This policy is subject to change without notice.
Standard of Conduct
At ACC Northeast-sponsored Events, you must always treat others with respect and civility. You may not engage in Unacceptable Conduct. “Unacceptable Conduct” includes, but is not limited to:
• Violence, threats of violence, unwanted touching, or physical intimidation
• Disruptive behavior or bullying
• Verbal or written harassment on any basis, including sexual harassment
• Displaying inappropriate visual information
• Possession of weapons or illegal substances
• Behavior that violates any applicable law or regulation
• Violation of the rules of the Event or venue
• Failure to follow safety instructions of ACC Northeast staff
• Any behavior that, in ACC Northeast’s reasonable judgment, lacks respect, professionalism, or civility
Complaints and Reporting
Contact local law enforcement or emergency services immediately if you notice a dangerous situation, threats of violence or someone in distress at an ACC Northeast Event.
If you witness or are alerted to any Unacceptable Conduct by an Event participant, you must promptly inform the Chapter Administrator or one or more members of the ACC Northeast Chapter Board in person or via email. The ACC Northeast Chapter Board, or its designee, will review all allegations of violations of this Code.
To report Unacceptable Conduct via email, please write northeast-administrator@accglobal.com to request a complaint form. A copy of the complaint may be provided to the accused for an opportunity to respond. You may submit a complaint anonymously. Whatever information you can provide, including identifying witnesses, will be helpful for resolving your complaint. All reports will be kept as confidential as reasonably possible in light of the complaint.
Consequences of Unacceptable Conduct
ACC Northeast has a zero-tolerance policy for Unacceptable Conduct. Anyone asked to cease any observed or alleged Unacceptable Conduct is expected to immediately comply with ACC Northeast’s request. Violations of this policy may result in:
• Removal from an Event without refund or warning
• Prohibition from future ACC Northeast or affiliated ACC Events
• Revocation of ACC membership without refund
• Referral to local law enforcement
