As the 2019 President of the Association of Corporate Counsel of Greater Philadelphia, I wanted to start by expressing my thanks, not only to our over 1,500 members, but also to our generous and engaged sponsors. We have been blessed to have members who care deeply about this organization and who volunteer their valuable time to participate in practice committees who work with our sponsors to develop and put on programming for our members. I can’t thank our member volunteers enough for all of the work they do to put on the excellent programs that we enjoy all year long.
I would be remiss not to also mention our terrific Administrator, Chris Stewart, and our wonderful Assistant Administrator, Joanne Ray. They work tirelessly to make sure that our programming goes off without a hitch and that our social programming, such as our Meet Your Counterparts, our diversity softball game, and for the first year, our golf outing, go off without a hitch.
That brings me to the new items on our calendar that you can expect to see this year. First off, our In-House Counsel Conference on April 24th will be bigger and better than ever and again will be at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. In addition to broadened programming for our members, we have added a GC/CLO track that will have programming on topics unique to GCs and CLOs which will be limited to GCs and CLOs as well. We also decided to bring back our GC/CLO Summit, which will be a 3 hour separate program on March 26th, again with topics of interest to GCs and CLOs and exclusively for GCs and CLOs.
Please save the date for our first ever ACC Greater Philadelphia Golf Outing at beautiful Radnor Valley Country Club on September 23rd. More information will be coming out about that shortly. Plans are also underway for a Dog Show (bring your dogs large and small) for June 7th and the showing of an Ethics Follies (CLE credits!) movie at a Philadelphia movie theatre, followed by cocktails, which is currently scheduled for December 3rd.
This organization is as good as it is because of the involvement of each and every one of you. Please plan to come to our programming, have a hand in developing our programming, or simply drop me an email with your thoughts about our programming. We so very much want to hear from you that we will shortly be sending out a brief survey which we very much would appreciate you completing and returning to us.
I’m looking forward to a terrific 2019 and I hope you are too.
