After the success of the pilot clerkship program in July 2019, the Association of Corporate Counsel Australia and The Learned Crew (TLC)  are running an in-house legal clerkship program in the second half of 2020 in both Sydney and Melbourne:

H2 2020: Sydney and Melbourne. Start approx July. Exact dates, length of time and whether part time, full time or combination is up to the individual legal team. Legal teams must confirm their participation by 1 March 2020.

This is the first clerkship program in Australia that has been specifically designed for the in-house market.

The program is a turnkey solution to having a law student clerk as part of an in-house team, and the program runs a structured training session for each student clerks before they start with their host organisation so they are job-ready and adding value as soon as they begin their clerkship.

We support both the clerk and the host organisation throughout the program by reviewing the applications, shortlisting candidates and training the law student clerks on the fundamentals of being an in-house lawyer.

We started this clerkship program to create new and unique opportunities for law students to gain work experience in a growing segment of the legal profession, and for in-house lawyers to give back to the next generation of lawyers and have energetic young talent to help them within their busy in-house functions.

We’d love for you to be part of this amazing opportunity!
