Summary: Awarded to the in-house lawyer who has demonstrated highest aptitude and achievement beyond the expectations of their role during their transition into an in-house legal career.
Eligibility: In-house lawyers in the first three years of their in-house legal career.
Judging Criteria
- Demonstrated technical ability and making a smooth transition in adapting to an in-house role and adding value to the business and/or team beyond the expectation for a new-to-in-house lawyer.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen, facilitating organisational objectives beyond black letter law.
- Developing a strong network and demonstrated willingness to contribute within the in-house legal community.
- Bringing new ideas, skills and challenging the norms of the in-house team to bring about innovative change. Making a significant positive contribution to the development, enhancement, or success of their employer (for example, pro bono work or innovative practice measures). Showing initiative and leadership partnering within and external to the business.
