Event Code of Conduct

ACC NEO is committed to ensuring a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment at its events. At ACC NEO-sponsored events, attendees must always treat others with respect and civility.

This Code of Conduct applies to all ACC NEO-sponsored events and any related events or social gatherings. Note: Events sponsored by ACC’s Global Headquarters will be governed by ACC’s Event Code of Conduct.

This Code of Conduct applies to anyone participating in an ACC NEO sponsored event, including all ACC NEO staff and Board members, volunteers, members, attendees, guests, speakers, volunteers, sponsors, exhibitors, and vendors. This Code of Conduct is subject to change without notice.

Unacceptable conduct at an event includes:
•    Violence, threats of violence, unwanted touching, or physical intimidation;
•    Disruptive behavior or bullying;
•    Verbal or written harassment on any basis;
•    Displaying harassing and/or offensive visual information;
•    Possession of illegal substances;
•    Behavior that is illegal;
•    Violation of the rules of the event or venue;
•    Failure to follow safety instructions of ACC NEO staff and Board members, or volunteers; and
•    Any behavior that ACC NEO believes lacks respect or civility.

Complaints
Contact local law enforcement or emergency services immediately if you become aware of a dangerous situation, including violence, threats of violence, or someone in distress.

To report unacceptable conduct at an event, contact a member of the ACC NEO staff or Board of Directors as soon as possible. As soon as possible, please file a complaint via the ACC NEO event code of conduct complaint form.

Whatever information you can provide, including identifying witnesses, may be helpful. ACC NEO respects individual's interests in confidentiality and will keep reports as confidential as reasonably possible, sharing information only with those who need to know to protect others from harm and/or to enforce this Code of Conduct.

Consequences of unacceptable conduct
Unacceptable conduct will not be tolerated. Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply at once. Violations of this policy may result in:
•    Removal from an event without refund or warning;
•    Exclusion from future ACC NEO events;
•    Revocation of ACC membership; and
•    Referral to local law enforcement.

Internal action steps
If a host/moderator/staff member witnesses or is alerted to any unacceptable behavior by a meeting participant, they should contact the ACC NEO Executive Director (ED) promptly in person or via email (neoh@accglobal.com). The Executive Director will share details with the Chapter’s leadership, including the full Board of Directors or appropriate ACC NEO Board Officers. The ACC NEO Board, or their designee(s), will assess all allegations of violations of this Code of Conduct and determine appropriate actions and/or consequences.
