TOPIC: Gearing up for e-sport – Seizing opportunities and tackling legal issues
The rapidly increasing popularity of e-sports has generated US$696 million in revenues in 2017 and is expected to grow to US$1.5 billion by 2020. Asia is at the forefront of this phenomenon and already taking e-sport competition to the next level with the announcement of a medal event at the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou.
What are the untapped opportunities? What legal issues are e-sports raising? During this lunch seminar, Eugene Low and Arthur Ng will not only discuss a myriad of legal issues (ranging across intellectual property, gaming and employment) but also exchange ideas on opportunities that the booming e-sport market presents.
