Who’s agenda?

This is a mentee-driven program, meaning the objectives, time-frames and success measures are set by the mentee.

Timeframe?

The next Future Leaders Mentoring Program runs for ten months, commencing 31 January 2022 and runs through until 3 December 2022.

How often?

Mentoring partners typically meet once a month for approximately one hour. In your first session, it is advisable to put aside 90 minutes to allow getting to know each other.

Where?

Meetings between mentoring pairs takes place at a location of their choosing. Mentoring partners do not necessarily have to be geographically close. Technological advances mean that virtual mentoring meetings can be just as successful and rewarding as in-person meetings. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we have all become accustomed to holding video conferencing with Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Skype. It is recommended that if you are meeting across distance, to opt for video rather than telephone connections, to allow for greater levels of communication to occur.

Structure?

Every mentoring relationship is different. We encourage you to decide the structure for your program at your first meeting. It is up to the mentee to decide how formal, structured or informal they wish the relationship to be.

Experience shows us that the most successful mentoring experiences involve a level of structure, with the mentee being
clear on their objectives and arriving prepared for each mentoring session.

ACC Australia provide all the tools you need to make the program a success. Online, self-paced training is provided for mentors, equipping them with the skills and expectations they need to get the most from the experience. Any mentors who complete the training will be awarded four CPD points after successfully completing their online assessment.

A program handbook, forms, templates and guidelines are available in the Mentoring Program resource library and the Mentoring Program Facilitator keeps in regular contact to provide tips and prompts throughout the duration of the program.

Extras?

If NSW and VIC COVID regulations permit, opening and closing events will be held in Melbourne and Sydney. We will advise participants in those regions in January if this is possible.

Mentors and Mentees will be eligible for nomination in the Mentee of the Year and Mentor of the Year Awards.

Participants in the mentoring program receive special discounts at national and many state events.
