Pro Bono Legal Work in Hong Kong: A Guide for In-House Counsel

Pro Bono HK provides free legal assistance to marginalised and disadvantaged individuals in our community. Since its launch in May 2017 to date, our community legal clinic located in Sham Shui Po has assisted over 100 clients and provided over 120 hours of legal service on a pro bono basis. Thus far, we have relied on the kindness of Solicitor volunteers working in private practice.

Due to demand, we need to expand and increase the availability of our services to other disadvantaged members of the public. Please help us to do this by donating to our Access to Justice Fund (“A2J Fund”) at: www.simplygiving.com/event/a2jfund and/or volunteering your services.

The A2J Fund will be used to cover:

• the costs of expanding and running the community legal clinics in Hong Kong ·
• professional indemnity insurance premiums to enable practicing solicitors working in-house to provide pro bono legal advice at our clinic
