About us

The Sole Legal Officer (SLO) Special Interest Group (SIG), colloquially referred to as ‘YOLO’ (you’re the only legal officer), is a network designed to be a place where lawyers who are the sole in-house counsel for their organisation can gain additional support, benefit from tailored learning opportunities and have the opportunity to acquire knowledge from, and network with, other lawyers who are in a similar position.

While the intention is to cater to this segment of the in-house community, the SLO SIG doesn’t exclude membership on the SIG purely because they have other legal members in their team (e.g. not strictly YOLO’s). The diversity of thought, opinion and experience provides the best outcomes for our membership. The sessions, events and topics offered by the SIG will focus on things that are important and relevant to YOLO’s.

The SLO SIG will provide relevant resources, thought leadership and CPD events to the in-house legal network. We are proud to host roundtable events at the ACC Australia In-House Counsel Days and at the In-House Legal National Conference.

We welcome your ideas and thoughts to contribute to the development of the SLO SIG because we want to assist you with your development. Let us know by emailing Chris O’Callaghan C.OCallaghan@accglobal.com about topics you’d like to hear, articles you’d like to read, CPD you’d like to attend and webinars you’d like to tune into.
