We all know what mentoring is, as most of us have mentored or been mentored, either formally or informally, at some point in our lives. Although mentoring is something that appears to occur naturally, there are skills and traits that make some mentors more effective than others.

“One of our associations’ most successful programs has been the Future Leaders Mentoring Program" , shares Ingrid Seogta, ACC Australia’s Executive Director. “It’s been continually running now for 14 years and we have mentors who volunteer their time year after year because they understand the value of the program. It’s for this reason we have designed an advanced mentoring masterclass and I encourage anyone who has mentored before to take a closer look."

This masterclass has been designed for those who love to share what they’ve learned to aid the growth of another and also want to strengthen their natural skill sets to be able to handle a range of mentee situations and personalities. The half day class starts with the assumption that participants have had some experience as a mentor and the content dives straight into advanced mentoring skills development:

  • Identifying your own mentor blueprint
  • Recognising your unique strengths and areas to develop
  • Learning how to help a mentee struggling with a limited sense of direction
  • Creating the right balance of boundaries and support in your mentoring relationship
  • Dealing with difficult situations
  • Knowing how to identify and deal with mental health challenges
  • Empowering your mentee to leave the relationship with confidence

“These masterclasses will be facilitated by ACC Australia's Head of Programs, Karina Butera, who is an award winning master coach and mentor herself. Anyone who has attended one of Karina’s sessions before will know they are highly interactive and you are guaranteed to walk away with a number of actionable outcomes!” shares Ingrid.

Masterclasses will run in both Melbourne and Sydney in early February. Early bird prices are still available until Friday 17th January.
