What are the current legal challenges arising from workplace romances? Should you implement a no- fraternization policy? Electronic flirting and sexting and the out-of-control use of social networking; how employers are coping with employees’ use of recreational and prescription drugs ; the challenge of regulating employee appearance including weight, dress, tattoos and body piercings; conflicts arising from offensive or objectionable music and “art” in the workplace. Movie lawyers lead tough lives, particularly corporate lawyers. From the 1976 film Network to the 2007 film Michael Clayton, the fantastic situations of our big screen counterparts offer real world lessons. Using short film clips of ethically challenged movie lawyers to illustrate the requirements of the rules of professional responsibility, Hollywood's portrayal of corporate counsel enables us to demonstrate practical requirements of the rules of ethics.

The recession is causing every industry to rethink its strategy on generating income and revenue. The nonprofit sector is no exception. In fact, some would argue that the philanthropic dollar has never been more competitive. In light of this economic environment, venture philanthropy is on the rise and the savvy in-house practitioner needs to be prepared to assist clients in structuring nontraditional revenue-generating relationships, while protecting the corporation’s brand, tax status and its resources.
