Have you ever felt as though you are juggling many balls, moving at warp speed? Although you know you are capable, the pressure can be overwhelming and all you really want is plenty of space and time for the important parts of life. In this session we will investigate:

• How do I create time for my passions in life?
• What tools can I use to balance work effectively and create more space?
• We all have different personalities and work styles, what are my personal traits that define how I approach life?
• I’ve spent many years committed to my work, I’m now ready to transition to find more balance in my life. What steps do I need to take?
• My peers seem to have the perfect life, do they really?
• What standards have I created around “success”? How do I integrate my business and personal success stories and actualize my life?

You will also learn about Gibson Arnold & Associates and the resources available to you and your colleagues.

What do in-house lawyers need to learn the most? We took a poll!

Two topics rose to the top: business acumen and time management. Accordingly, following our blockbuster “School of Hard Talks” session in March 2023, the New-to-In-House Committee will host a hard-hitting and interactive discussion to help you get more wisdom about these topics.

You will learn practical, specific strategies to accelerate your business acumen and be more productive with your time. Our discussion will be led by three star panelists with plenty of help from the collective wisdom of our ACC attendees.

This program is being hosted by the New-to-In-House Committee and Parker Poe for both experienced in-house counsel and new to in-house attorneys. We need in-house counsel of all experience levels to attend and participate. Bring your experiences, tips and challenges to share at this lively and collaborative session.

Schedule of Events:
4:30 - Registration and Mixer
5:00 - Panel Discussion and Interactive Session
6:00 - Social

Many studies show that making time for an activity that you enjoy can improve your mental health and well-being. However, as we all know far too well, women attorneys have demanding occupations and it can be challenging to find time to spend on hobbies. In this panel discussion, Bradley attorneys and ACC members will talk about how they identify passions and find time to pursue them while maintaining a busy career.

Join us at Eight + Sand for this lively discussion on the importance of making time for hobbies and its impact on the overall well-being of women attorneys.

CLE // NY // 1 Credit // Cybersecurity, Privacy and Data Protection - General

Coaching is a process of both transformation and empowerment. It helps an individual identify and crystalize goals, identify the gap between where they are and those goals, brainstorm strategies to close that gap and test out and get feedback on their approach. It can be impactful for personal or professional goals but also for more effectively managing others. Because coaching is meant to empower, two important skills to master are active listening and asking powerful questions. For lawyers and others who are used to giving advice, this can be a hard transition to make. This one-hour workshop will focus on the basics of coaching plus these two critical skills and why mastering them can be so helpful.

This program provides essential tools and tips for effectively navigating commercial contracts and avoiding common pitfalls. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of key contract provisions and learn strategies to mitigate risks and protect their interests.

Topics include:
1.    Importance of contract analysis, risk management, and drafting considerations.
2.    Intellectual Property considerations.
3.    Limitation of liability, warranty exclusions, and disclaimers.
4.    Indemnification, definitions, scope, GDPR considerations, and data privacy and cybersecurity.
5.    Term, termination, renewal, and litigation considerations.

This program equips participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to identify and navigate potential traps in commercial contracts. By understanding key provisions and implementing effective drafting techniques, attendees will be better equipped to mitigate risks and protect their interests in contract negotiations and disputes.
