Expanded digitization and information sharing in commercial transactions have increased overall vulnerability and exposure to cyber threats. Primary geopolitical risk for companies include retaliatory cyberattacks from foreign actors and vulnerable infrastructure networks.

This webinar will discuss corporate counsel’s expanded role due to the increase in regulatory oversight requirements, such as the SEC Cyber Governance Rule, and cybersecurity attacks on critical networks. Tentative topics include cross-functional team coordination to manage IT security programs, cyber risk assessments and disclosure, effective compliance testing and internal controls, and cyber-related crisis readiness and response.

Akil Hirani, Managing Partner of Majmudar & Partners, a leading law firm in India, will provide helpful tips and guidance on important points to keep in mind when it comes to hiring (and terminating) employees in India, enforcing non-competes, protecting IP rights, data privacy, compliance with India governance, anti-corruption rules, and whether e-signs work in India.

If you and your company are currently operating in India or have plans to establish an office/subsidiary/manufacturing facility in India, adding R & D talent and/or are developing IP/products usable in the Indian market, you need to understand the laws, requirements and local nuances of Indian law.

O Advogado Digital: Navegando pela Integração de IA em Departamentos Jurídicos (Parte 4)

ACC Northeast and Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC are pleased to present our next partnered webinar to talk about the ever-expanding universe of state privacy laws.

In 2020, a wave of state privacy legislation began in the U.S. with the passage of the CCPA in California.  Other states quickly began to follow suit and, as of July 2024, there are now 19 states that have jumped on the band wagon, with others waiting in the wings.  It is important for in-house counsel to understand these state privacy laws, as they pose a wide variety of compliance challenges to affected businesses that, in some cases, may have multiple layers.

DRM attorney Matt Borick will provide an overview of these state privacy laws, focusing on their general requirements for affected businesses.  He also will discuss the effort in Vermont to enact a privacy law and the issues that derailed the legislation.

Please join us for this webinar on Monday, September 23.  The dial-in address will be sent to all registrants 24 hours in advance of the webinar.
