What about that “other” addiction – Gambling?

In 2018, the United States Supreme Court, in Murphy Vs. NCAA, held that sports gambling was legal in all of the United States. By 2019, many states began approving both traditional and sports betting, making on-line gambling accessible by cell phone, computer, and tablets. As the world changed in 2020 with the onset of work from home law practices due to COVID-19, isolation and easy access to gambling followed. With it came the compulsive gambler.

Internet gambling and Sports betting apps are now an everyday part of watching television. Whether these forms of gambling are ever “risk free” may depend upon the nature of the risk involved. The connection between compulsive gambling , financial crimes and self-harm is compelling.

This program will explore not only Gambling Disorder, but also the connection between gambling and the more well-known forms of impairment and why lawyers are at higher risk to develop problems. The results are startling.

Key Topics
  • The impact of the use of the internet on gambling disorders.

A sweeping overhaul of India’s employment law landscape is underway, with immediate relevance for U.S. multinationals and their India operations. The November 2025 rollout represents a major regulatory inflection point, while generating substantial uncertainty. Media coverage has been uneven, state-level timelines vary, and many organizations are still assessing what compliance actually requires in practice.

This session will cut through the noise and focus on what matters most for corporate legal teams:

  • Understanding India’s four Labor Codes now in force, bringing together 29 legacy labor statutes into a single, modernized compliance framework.
  • What implementation really looks like on the ground: Including HR process redesign, documentation updates, compliance audits, and dispute-management mechanics under the new regime.
  • Operational and financial impacts for employers, from payroll restructuring and social security contributions to contractor oversight, workforce planning, and risk allocation.
  • The transition support organizations will need, particularly multi-state employers, and companies relying heavily on contractors, staffing vendors, or gig-economy platforms.
  • How to navigate the interim period while state rules remain in flux, and what uneven or staggered adoption means for legal exposure and compliance strategy.

Our objective to provide clear and actionable guidance so India operations can move through this transition with minimal disruption.

France’s parliamentary chambers have adopted a law recognizing legal privilege for in-house counsel. Learn the key features and limitations of the new privilege. This resource also includes 10 practical implications and steps for global businesses.

India's data governance landscape is undergoing a historic transformation. With the introduction of the Draft Digital Personal Data Protection Rules 2025 following the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (“DPDPA”), the nation is re-orienting itself to a modern, consent and rights-oriented approach to data privacy.

The Rules introduce key operational and governance requirements, including itemized notice content, consent architecture, breach reporting timelines, baseline security requirements as well as specific obligations for certain classes of data fiduciaries (akin to data controllers).

Designed for in-house counsel of businesses operating or intending to operate in India, this Webcast will provide:

  • A strategic overview of where the DPDPA stands today;
  • A deep dive into the draft rules and key compliance obligations;
  • Practical guidance for organizations on readiness, operating models, and next steps; and
  • Insights into how enforcement trends globally may influence regulatory expectations from enforcement authorities / courts.
