Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. A world that's diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women's equality. Collectively we can all #BreakTheBias.

This years’ theme is focused on breaking the bias in our communities, workplaces, schools and colleges. We will work together to create a gender equal world, breaking down the barriers (or bias) still in place today. We want a world where difference is valued and celebrated and free of stereotypes and discrimination. One of the first steps to take is to form a community of like-minded people dedicated to the cause.

We invite you to join us for a networking breakfast and discussion on how we will #BreakTheBias in the UAE. Your hosts have come together to unite in creating a platform for positive change. We believe by joining forces, we can drive real change.

The recent announcement of Federal Decree Law No. 33 of 2021 amending the UAE Labour Law may reflect a significant shift in the UAE’s employment law landscape - and much has been made of the ground-breaking nature of the Decree.

Join us for a detailed discussion with Luke Tapp and Ruth Stephen of Pinsent Masons, to consider the following areas:

• Fixed term vs unlimited term vs part-time contracts – a key area of development under the new law and how does this impact employers in practice?

• Employment benefits and entitlements – what is the impact of the new law on sick leave, annual leave, family leave and other statutory benefits?

• Working days: the new working week- its impact on the private sector and what options are available to employers.

• Employment terminations – redundancy, poor performance, gross misconduct. What does the new law change in this regard and what is the risk to companies?

• Immediate steps – in advance of the implementation of the new law in February 2022, what should HR managers, business owners, in-house lawyers be doing at this stage?
