While the implications and timeline of COVID-19’s disruption on workplaces are still being fully realized, it’s clear that the transition to remote work for the vast majority of corporate employees has made data less secure and more vulnerable to compromise, leakage and theft. Additionally, the pandemic’s upheaval of the global economy means that workforce shifts or reductions are likely inevitable.

Forensic and trade secret theft experts will present on the following issues and share techniques for developing a proactive and prepared stance to face them:
•    How can a corporation protect sensitive data in these circumstances?
•    How do organizations detect and respond to data leakage and/or theft when it happens?
•    And once data is compromised and litigation started, how do businesses put a value on what was lost?

The last portion of the program will be dedicated to interactive discussion/Q+A, with all participants and speakers participating.

COVID-19 has already impacted so many of our members’ career via layoffs, furloughs and salary cuts. This Happier Hour, we’ll feature a career coach who can help you identify your career goals and make a plan to achieve them.

WHAT'S A "HAPPIER HOUR"?
ACC NEO’s Happier Hour is an opportunity for members to take a break to video chat with fellow ACC NEO members.

Hosted virtually via the Zoom webinar platform, topics vary each time and will range from health + wellness to how in-house attorneys can set and achieve their career goals.

While employers and their employees---especially those formerly deemed as essential---continue to battle COVID-19 with great resolve, some employers have faced threatened walkouts, sick-outs, strike threats and other disruptions.

Both union and nonunion employers are dealing with these challenges and complicated labor law issues. Union employers are concerned about when and how they are required to bargain over business changes in the midst of a crisis. Non-union employers are dealing with new and different kinds of potentially protected concerted activity related to COVID-19, including actions by employees in response to health and safety concerns.

Still other employers are concerned about union organizing in the wake of the pandemic.

This session will focus on what both union and nonunion employers can do now to address and manage these issues, maintain positive and lawful labor relations, and prepare for the future.

ACC Northeast, together with FTI Consulting, invites you to dial-in for this informative webinar.

In the current economic climate of uncertainty, business resiliency is top of mind for many organizations and their in-house counsel, but many are struggling to articulate what that might look like and how to achieve it. Moreover, data privacy and security concerns have increased exponentially during the pandemic's work from home mandates.

Fortunately, there are steps you and your organizations can take right now to strengthen business resiliency. These strategies not only help with regulatory compliance, but also serve as a meaningful business integrity component that can help steady the rudder following tumultuous times.  You will also learn how to:

  • Create a data map that pulls together business processes, and how to associate them with relevant systems, stakeholders and data;
  • Develop a baseline data taxonomy, including metadata elements;
  • Align data privacy policy and procedure with IT infrastructure to implement good data hygiene.

Join this webinar and hear our expert panelists as they discuss these strategies and share practical steps for implementing them.

The webcast link will be sent with your confirmation email.
