“Navigating Talent Transitions: Legal and Practical Best Practices for Employee Onboarding and Offboarding”

As the competition for talent increases and the legal landscape around restrictive covenants and trade secret protections evolves, join us for a timely and interactive discussion focused on best practices for managing employee transitions.

We’ll cover key legal updates — including the latest developments on non-compete agreements — and explore practical strategies for aligning with other stakeholders, managing differences between single-site and distributed companies, and addressing administrative obstacles and best practices.

Attendees will enjoy a buffet dinner during the roundtable discussion.  No CLE Credit will be offered for this program.

Discussion Leader:  Jonathan S. Krause, Partner, Klehr Harrison Harvey Branzburg LLP

Jonathan is a co-chair of the Litigation Department. He represents employers in all aspects of employment and labor law, with a particular emphasis on trade secret/non-compete, whistleblower issues, wage and hour, and discrimination/harassment matters. Jonathan partners with clients to achieve their business goals while effectively mitigating risk and prides himself on achieving creative and practical results whether that means counseling clients on workforce issues through litigation if and when it arises.

Accessibility is not one size fits all.  Individuals may have diverse needs based on their disabilities, and what works for one person might not work for another.  Therefore, creating an inclusive environment requires thoughtful consideration and collaboration among team members.  Join the Accessibility Affinity Group for a collaborative, interactive workshop to build inclusion into meetings.  This session’s goal is to create a foundational list of common accommodations for a wide range of disabilities to facilitate both meeting planning and meeting attendance.  We hope to see you there!

Pressley Ridge has been helping kids and families in the Pittsburgh area and beyond since 1832.  The organization offers a variety of services, including foster care and adoption, specialized education, and residential treatment care.  While Pressley Ridge remains grounded in Pittsburgh, it has expanded services to Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, and Texas.

At Pressley Ridge’s 31st Annual Ice Cream Fundae, thousands of attendees will tour the zoo after-hours and sample a dozen ice cream flavors from Graeter’s Ice Cream.  The ACC Western Pennsylvania Chapter and our sponsor, Saul Ewing, have the opportunity to volunteer at a scooping station, interacting with attendees and handing out ice cream samples.  Volunteers will be asked to participate in a 1-hour “shift,” while you are free to enjoy the zoo and the other ice cream flavors for the remainder of the event.  Feel free to meet up with family or friends before/after the scooping station time to take full advantage of the event.
