During a protracted period of crisis management, drastic business disruption and a distributed workforce under unrelenting pressure, how are General Counsels pivoting and evolving to lead their teams and organizations?  More than ever, decisiveness, flexibility, empathy, and inclusivity are eclipsing traditional lawyerly traits of deliberateness, consistency, convention, and hierarchy in importance.  What are GCs doing to identify and develop these strengths in themselves and in their teams?  How do these changes affect GC relationships and expectations with your executives/boards, internal clients, and outside counsel?

Join us for a conversation about these important questions with the following leading chief legal officers:

We are pleased to invite you and your colleagues to attend this important virtual discussion brought to you by Nixon Peabody and ACC Northeast Chapter's Women's/D,E&I Committees.

Have you ever wondered what it means to be an ally? Or what you can do to advance Equity and Inclusion in your workplace? If so, please join us for this important conversation.  This program is open to ALL who want to be a part of the conversation and strive to be better allies in their workplace.

Historically, women, people of color, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and attorneys with disabilities have been underrepresented in private law firms and in house legal departments.  Recruitment isn't the main issue but access to career enhancing work, client development opportunities, sponsorship, and unconscious biases all play major roles in the retention and advancement of underrepresented attorneys.

Our panel will candidly discuss the challenges many in-house professionals have historically faced in both law firms and legal departments. Panelists will offer insights, best practices and innovative approaches to address these issues, with an emphasis on the important role allies play in ensuring a diverse pipeline of talent at all levels of the organization.

This event is open to both men and women.  Please join us by registering below.  Dial-in info will be sent 24 hours in advance of the event.

What's the "new normal" as the pandemic becomes ever more endemic? Join us as we answer this question and more.

ACC NCR is pleased to announce a Roundtable featuring Lauren McFerran, Chairman of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). Chairman McFerran will deliver remarks and then join Alex Gordon, Senior Counsel, Employment Affairs at the Johns Hopkins Health System, for a conversation that will include the state of the Board, major recent decisions, and issues for which the Board has sought public input.

National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) Chairman McFerran served as a Member of the NLRB from 2014 to 2019; and President Biden named her Chairman of the NLRB on January 20, 2021.

You’re invited to join us to celebrate, connect, and network with chapter members and sponsors.  We’ll raise a glass and toast to another great year of collaboration before splitting into breakout rooms for small-group conversations.

To get the party started, the chapter will send refreshments to all who register by February 21 (please provide your preferred address for delivery as well as indicate any allergies).

**Annual Relationship Sponsors may send two representatives (Diamond may send three).
