Employment & Immigration Law Update for In-House Counsel: Enforcement, Policy Shifts, and Compliance Risks
This CLE course is designed specifically for in-house and corporate counsel navigating the evolving legal landscape of employment and immigration compliance. With a focus on 2025 developments, this session will provide timely insights and practical guidance on:

  • I-9 Audits and ICE Raids: enforcement has intensified in 2025 with employers facing heightened penalties, including criminal exposure and federal contract debarment. Learn how to proactively audit your I-9 records and prepare for unannounced inspections.

We’ll explore how these changes intersect with corporate hiring strategies, along with best practices for sponsorship, documentation, and risk mitigation in light of recent policy shifts.
  • Minnesota and Federal Legal Developments: from updates to Minnesota’s Earned Sick and Safe Time law, Minnesota Paid Family and Medical Leave coverage beginning January 1, 2026, to the impact of Executive Orders, this segment will highlight the most impactful legal changes shaping employment law in 2025.

Join us on Tuesday, September 30, for Negotiations 101 - Strategies for Success, a virtual ACC MN Sounding Board* session focused on negotiation prep and strategy.

Participants will meet via Zoom from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM. We’ll talk through some of the lessons from Roger Fisher and William Ury’s book, Getting to Yes – but don’t worry, there’s no need to read the book for this session.

Here are some resources highlighting elements of their approach that you may wish to explore as you prepare for our discussion:

We hope you’ll come ready to share your own experiences and what negotiation strategies have worked well (or maybe not so well) for you!

The program is free and open to ACC members and in-house counsel guests.

*The mission of the ACC MN Sounding Board is to foster the professional development of ACC MN members seeking to learn ways to interact more effectively with their business partners and promote personal leadership and growth.

Legal Prep is Chicago’s first and only legal-themed high school and serves 285 students from its West Garfield Park location.  Legal Prep’s mission is to provide a high-quality high school education in one of Chicago’s most under-resourced communities and use its legal-theme curriculum and programs to give students the skills to be successful in college and life.

Come help improve the school and its grounds!  On July 26th we will repaint various common spaces in the school; organize its utility, supply, and storage spaces; provide basic garden work around the building – specifically in the courtyard; set up Chromebooks for upcoming school year; and organize Library books and shelves.

Lunch is included.  Children 16+ are welcome to serve.

Don’t miss the opportunity to make a difference. Join us!  Register now.
