Join ACC St. Louis and the Professional Development Committee for the CLE Program:  That's Not What I Said!  - Deciphering Gender Differences in Communication on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Vue 17.

Have you been frustrated when someone misunderstands you? Or been told you need to change your style of speech? Women use different language patterns than men when speaking amongst themselves.

Common business wisdom judges female genderlect as inferior, but that is a judgment through a male genderlect lens that misses opportunities for more effective communication for everyone. Once you understand the differences in how men and women approach their genderlects and how both styles are effective in the right setting, you can become “bilingual”.

We have found that once people understand the differences in communication styles, they can assess quickly why miscommunications are occurring and adapt their styles accordingly.
