Beveridge & Diamond's Boston office invites ACC Northeast members for a lively networking event at PKL Boston.  Come experience the pickleball craze while socializing and enjoying signature cocktails and delicious appetizers from PKL's Chopped!-winning chef.  In addition to the pickleball courts, the space also includes cornhole, and cozy cabanas, for those that would rather spectate or just socialize.  You don't need to be a pickleball aficionado to participate, but we will have a coach join us to answer any questions and offer guidance if needed.  Come network, play some games, and meet up with friends and colleagues old and new!

Maintaining productivity and morale in today’s workforce has become even more challenging. It continues to be imperative that employers not only create and maintain documentation regarding employee performance, but effectivedocumentation. Our presenters will discuss the art and law when it comes to effectively engaging in performance management for employees, including:

  • The need for effective documentation – the goals of performance-related documentation

  • How to create effective evaluation programs and documentation – the “TIE” principle
  • Effectively training the evaluators
  • Benchmarking performance management tools and strategies in 2025

Understanding how you can effectively draft and enforce restrictive covenants is essential to ensure they are both legally enforceable and tailored to your organization’s strategic objectives. This session will address the legal and strategic considerations that inform the drafting of restrictive covenants in employment agreements, and how to respond to suspected breaches of employee restrictive covenants.

As the legal and regulatory landscape surrounding AI continues to evolve, in-house counsel must stay ahead of emerging risks, ethical considerations, and compliance challenges.  Join ACC Northeast on May 2 as Pierce Atwood’s cross-functional Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning team, including members of the firm’s litigation, compliance and transactional groups and the firm’s in-house general counsel, leads an in-depth, practical discussion on the use of generative AI in legal practice and the latest trends shaping AI-related litigation, enforcement, and lawmaking.

Part I: The Use of Generative AI in the Practice of Law (2 hours)

A panel of Pierce Atwood Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning team members, —spanning litigation, compliance, and transactional disciplines—will highlight developments and trends they’re tracking in 2025, including:

  • Class action litigation trends;
  • Regulatory enforcement priorities;
  • Copyright infringement and protectability considerations;
  • Trade secret protection strategies; and,AI-focused legislative developments in the U.S. and beyond.

The formal program will run 9:00 am – 12:10pm.  Light breakfast and lunch will be provided before and after, with opportunity to meet and catch up with other attendees.

This program is approved for 2 Maine ethics CLE credits and 1 Maine general CLE credit. Attorneys seeking credit in other states can receive a certificate of attendance to complete those submissions.

The discussion for our next GC/CLO Lunch Club will focus on the General Counsel as a strategic business partner.  Adesola Adegbesan from Exelon will lead the discussion on how GC's can drive business growth while managing legal risks, bridging the gap between legal, operations, and the C-suite and earning a a seat at the strategy table—what CEOs and boards expect from modern GCs.

There is no charge for GC/CLO chapter members to attend this luncheon, but pre-registration is required.
