As enforcement priorities continue to evolve, Fox Rothschild will examine the Department of Justice’s 2026 agenda with a particular focus on white-collar crime. We will explore how shifting federal and state enforcement strategies affect corporate risk and outline practical steps general counsel can take to maintain compliance, mitigate exposure, and protect their organizations.

Key themes include:

  • The Administration’s more business-friendly approach to enforcement, including the expansion of corporate self-disclosure programs
  • Shifts in federal enforcement priorities, such as increased emphasis on tariff collections, transnational criminal organizations, and immigration-related fraud
  • A reduced focus on IRS-initiated tax enforcement, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) matters, and other traditional areas of corporate enforcement
  • Expanded use of the False Claims Act, along with heightened scrutiny of Medicare participants and government contractors
  • Increased enforcement activity at the state level, including a review of New York State regulators’ priorities and the potential impact of new state policies on businesses
  • Strategic considerations and practical use of the First Step Act when negotiating plea agreements in federal criminal matters

2025 was a consequential year for nonprofits navigating a rapidly evolving federal policy, funding, and enforcement landscape. This Year-in-Review presentation will recap the most significant legal developments affecting the sector in 2025:

  • Changes to federal funding requirements and compliance issues affecting organizations receiving federal grants and contracts
  • Analysis of federal executive orders and agency policies on diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a focus on their impact on employment practices, grantmaking, research, education, and mission-related activities
  • Discussion of litigation involving nonprofits impacted by new federal DEI policies that have restricted or conditioned funding for charitable and educational work
  • Discussion of federal law enforcement directives affecting civil society, including NSPM-7 Countering Domestic Terrorism and Organized Political Violence, instructing law enforcement to investigate organizations engaged in First Amendment protected activities and their donors using federal statutes including the Foreign Agents Registration Act
  • Update on proposed “terrorist supporting organization” legislation that could amend Internal Revenue Code Section 501(p)
  • Forward-looking insights on legal and policy issues nonprofits should monitor in 2026

"
Beyond Hallucinations: Collaborating with Outside Counsel on Effective Use of AI"
Presented by Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP

Recurring news stories about hallucinated case citations in filed briefs have spooked many in-house and outside counsel about using AI tools, leading to restrictive outside counsel guidelines and law firm AI policies.  But AI can add real value and cost savings from IP enforcement to trademark searching to agreement review and analysis.  Join our panelists for a lively discussion of specific “good” AI use cases, as well as techniques for fostering an innovation mindset to discover additional (valuable and ethical) AI use cases.

Speakers:

  • Christian Mammen, Partner, Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP
  • Susan Krumplitsch, Partner, Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP
  • Chris Dervishian, Product Counsel, Qlik

Join us for a brief pre-clinic orientation in advance of our Immigration Pro Bono Clinic in partnership with Ayuda! This virtual session is designed to make volunteering feel approachable and manageable, especially for those who may be new to immigration pro bono work or new to pro bono in general.

Ayuda staff and ACC NCR pro bono committee members will be in attendance and can explain what to expect and share tips for success.

You are not required to attend this orientation to volunteer for the clinic, but we hope this session will demystify pro bono service and address any reservations you may have.

The April 10 clinic will focus on providing brief immigration advice and referrals to low income immigrants with humanitarian and family based immigration questions. No prior immigration experience or training is required. More information on the clinic or to sign up, please click here.

Artificial Intelligence is permeating all aspects of modern life, and legal norms are struggling to keep up. Labor and employment law is no exception. Among other things, this programs will address the application of anti-discrimination laws to AI screening and selection of job applicants (including state AI-specific laws), employee privacy in an age of AI-assisted work, ownership of (and responsibility for) employee-generated content that uses AI, Fair Credit Reporting Act obligations in using AI, and international considerations.

In-house counsel are expected to have answers in real time, with imperfect facts, while keeping the business moving. That’s exactly why Todd Stanton’s The 95%Rule program is built the way it is: a tight set of employment-law “axioms” that are simply true in the real world, drawn from two decades of management-side work and the patterns that keep showing up in the EEOC/DOL/NLRB/OSHA alphabet soup. It’s practical, discussion-friendly, and aimed at what you can actually do on Monday: how to prevent the preventable, how to spot the issues most likely to devolve into litigation, and how to coach managers without handing them a script that makes things worse.

The Atlanta ACC crowd doesn’t need another lecture. This will be livelier than the typical program because it’s built around short, sticky axioms and real decision points, not legal theory. We’ll cover the usual risk areas (wage/hour, leaves, investigations, restrictive covenants, discipline) through a common-sense lens, with room for questions and war stories. If you want a fast, useful framework you can share with HR and business leaders, come join us—and if you leave with even one axiom you keep repeating internally, it will have been worth your while.

CLE credit will be applied for.

Copies of the bestselling The 95% Rule will be available for purchase, or feel free to get ahead of the game and order your copy off Amazon or Barnes & Noble.

A clear overview of how AI is reshaping IP law, from ownership of AI-generated content to patenting AI-enabled inventions and protecting proprietary models. Speakers will cover recent developments and practical considerations for safeguarding IP in an AI-driven landscape.
