On Thursday, November 10, 2022, join Norton Rose Fulbright lawyers and the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Minnesota as our panel of speakers presents “Life After Breach”. Data breach headlines have dominated the news cycle in the last 24 months. Nowadays, regulators are taking a hard look at the breach and seizing the opportunity to do a full-scale review of a company’s cyber, privacy and data practices. As a result, organizations need to be prepared to bring the receipts and explain why and how data was being collected, processed and retained. Regulators will look for an explanation of data collection and deletion practices, Privacy by Design, deidentification, and other privacy and security-friendly choices that could have mitigated the fallout from a breach.

Most corporate boards are not (yet!) diverse enough even though data tells us diversity matters. Inclusive groups get better results. Some states are legislating diversity requirements for boards -- litigation on the topic is ongoing. Regulators want to influence change as do some investment companies.
Do your career plans include getting on a board? What does it take? Is a "board resume" different? What are the risks and rewards? At our next ACC women's network (WIN) event we will enjoy a casual Q & A with three outstanding women lawyers about serving on public and private boards.
And speaking of boards, who doesn't love a tasty charcuterie board? We'll experience that, too. And we'll have plenty of time to chat and network.

Many national companies and their legal departments have developed affirmative recovery programs, which provide a unique opportunity for legal teams to make a positive impact on their company’s bottom line. In fact, in recent years, 75% of Fortune 500 companies were plaintiffs in recovery matters. These companies know that a mature and comprehensive recovery program can generate multiple significant recoveries annually.
Join us for dinner and to explore how legal departments can use antitrust, trademark, and marketing laws to generate revenue and demonstrate ROI. The discussion will be led by three Crowell & Moring partners who have worked closely with legal departments nationwide to structure and pursue affirmative recovery programs. Participants will learn three actionable strategies they can implement at their companies.
This event was formerly known as the Brinks Gilson Annual Intellectual Property Law Dinner. In July 2021, Brinks merged with Crowell & Moring. As in years past, guests will be provided with a cocktail reception and dinner at Morton’s Steakhouse.
