The Chapter is partnering with the World Chess Hall of Fame to offer exclusive master classes taught by Grand Masters in Residence.

At each event, lawyers will delve into the intricacies of chess, learning how to apply ancient wisdom to modern legal challenges. 

Each evening of chess will include lessons by a Grand Master, networking, food & beverages, attendance prize drawings and strategic learning!

First time attendees will go home with a chess set and instructions!

6:00 - 6:30 PM - "Endgame Techniques" taught by GrandMaster in Residence

Partners:  DC Bar Pro Bono Center
Clients: DC entrepreneurs and nonprofits with low incomes or serving economically disadvantaged communities
When: Wednesday, October 30, 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM
Where: Virtual via Zoom
Who: In-house attorneys
Experience: No specific training required; clients commonly present issues familiar to ACC NCR members

Training: Available on-demand webinar training video on frequent small business issues
Support: Pro Bono Center resource site (LawHelp) is available with specific small business resources

Time: Typically limited to 60-minute client sessions, with extensions if agreed to by volunteer; no ongoing commitment
Work: Attorneys meet with specific small business owners or nonprofits via Zoom, based on the entrepreneur’s or nonprofits legal question (as reflected in intake forms) and the attorney’s expertise. Assistance may be helping review legal documents or answering questions about forming a business, taxation, real estate, employment law, or other legal issues common to these organizations. You do not have to barred in DC.
