We have all heard the adage, "You don't get what you don't ask for." That is true, but to get what you ask for, many of us first need to overcome Ask Avoidance. Ask Avoidance is when you don't make the requests that you need to advance your career, or rush through the ask because it feels too self-promotional and "icky." This talk by Sheila Murphy, CEO of Focus Forward Consulting, will address the reasons you avoid making the asks that will advance you, and help you develop a plan for making effective asks that will move you forward.
