Join ACC

ACC Chapter CLO Networks help promote closer professional relationships and initiate leadership discussions among CLOs in their local areas.

Here are few examples of our recognized CLO networks

If your chapter has a CLO network or regional events that are geared towards CLOs, please email us at: corporate@acc.com. We would be glad to feature your network and its initiatives below.

Central Ohio Chapter

CLO Forum

ACC's Central Ohio chapter facilitates a quarterly CLO Forum, usually held over breakfast; forum members take turns hosting. While some meetings have themes, the Forum exists primarily to provide CLOs with opportunities to discuss openly the issues most important to them. The event is open to member and non-member CLOs.

GC Brown Bag Lunch

The Central Ohio Chapter also holds GC Brown Bag Lunches that permit one area GC to meet and talk intimately with a small group of invited Central Ohio ACC members.

The CLO Group

The CLO Group was formed by a former board member in 2012 to fill a void in the in-house counsel networking resources for chief legal officers and general counsels in the Denver metro area. The CLO Group has proven to be a supportive forum for members to hear about legal trends and hot topics through guest speakers on a bimonthly basis, and to share and exchange information to help address issues challenging CLOs and GCs today. With the support of the Colorado Chapter of the ACC, the CLO Group has flourished from 51 members at inception to more than 75 members and counting.

The CLO Group is invitation-only and not limited to ACC membership; it provides a good venue to (i) share the work being done by the Colorado Chapter with a cross-section of influential and engaged CLOs and GCs, and (ii) encourage nonmembers to join the ACC. This year, in conjunction with the Emerging Leaders Group (ELG), the CLO Group has launched a mentoring program that matches volunteer members from the CLO Group with volunteer mentors from the ELG Group. The Colorado Chapter is also assisting a faculty member at the Sturm College of Law at the University of Denver with the development of a new course entitled "Law & Practice of In-House Counsel"; this course will include members of the CLO Group as guest speakers and participants in a first-of-its-kind study of the practice of in-house counsel in the Denver metro area.

National Capital Region

The General Counsel Breakfast Club provides National Capital Region CLO members with an opportunity to meet informally with their peers for a free-flowing discussion centered around a pre-announced topic of practical interest. This is a "PowerPoint-free zone," and our discussions are confidential, with no marketing or other agenda. The breakfast club meets most months at members’ offices and rotates among the jurisdictions we serve. Starting in 2018, the General Counsel Breakfast Club is expanding to include other programs as well (e.g., lunch or evening events). GCs are welcome to attend as many sessions as their schedules will allow. Since its inception in 2008, the Breakfast Club has attracted a strong following among our CLO members and provided them with a much-appreciated network.
