Please join the ACC Northeast Chapter and Mintz for this half-day program for current and aspiring future General Counsel which will explore the role of in-house counsel in crisis management in the digital age.
The modern in-house counsel needs to be strategically relevant and nimble in order to innovate and thrive in this digital age. How is this achieved with the myriad of responsibilities one faces on a daily basis? Join us to learn from others about how they have addressed these challenges, what practical tips they can impart, and how they were able to add value.
The Program will consist of moderated/working sessions covering the following themes:
Crises come in many forms. It may be a crisis involving a data breach. It may be a crisis of having to review and respond to something with minimal time to prepare. You may need to reach someone urgently in a time zone that is completely different than yours. In-house counsel are constantly adapting and responding to crises of all shapes and sizes.
- What are some of the practical measures that can be put in place to help in a crisis?
- How have in-house counsel responded to unanticipated challenges and nimbly resolved them?

Data Challenges Everywhere:
The scope of data management has exponentially grown with the advent of new ways of communicating internally and to customers and partners around the world. In addition, compliance with legal requirements for data management processes are becoming more and more complicated.

- How can in-house counsel help their companies get ahead of risks in data management?
The Expanding Role of In-House Counsel:
In-house counsel have asked for and been granted a seat at the table. Now what? The scope of issues now under consideration by in-house counsel has expanded greatly. The traditional legal issues remain, along with new and growing areas of compliance: ESG, DEI, Risk, Operations, and even HR. The expanding scope of responsibilities, along with the challenge of every day events, makes the job more demanding every day.
- How is in-house counsel managing new issues with an already full slate of items to address?
- What resources are being employed to support the role and to maintain well-being?
