The Erwin Hotel in Venice on May 7th.

AI, Lies, and the Law: Defamation in the Digital Era, the CLE program will be from 6pm – 7pm,

And the cocktail hour on the rooftop will last until 9 pm.

Even before generative AI tools became widely available, defamation lawsuits were on the rise.  AI has the potential to increase the frequency of reputational disputes and defamation litigation. This program will explain the reasons for this, and provide legal and practical considerations for businesses on both sides of the issue, whether dealing with reputational harms to their people or brands, or defending a defamation suit filed against them.

4:15 - 5:15pm: "Hard to Get" CLE Happy Hour (CLE #2: 1.0 hour California Credit)

The event starts with a virtual CLE training session entitled "Employment Law Legal Audit for Nonprofit Organizations", by Cozen O’Connor, to update ACC members on employment law in California. Those who have never volunteered for this Pro Bono clinic before will join us at Noon.  Those who have volunteered before may choose to join at Noon OR 1:15PM for the latest updates. Next, members will be placed into small teams (with one or two other attorneys) to meet with their assigned nonprofit clients. Teams will have a couple hours to help their clients identify employment law issues and to counsel their clients. Cozen O'Connor employment attorneys will be standing by to assist with challenging questions.

All ACC members are welcome, regardless of your level of experience - you do not have to be an employment attorney to participate, and you are not required to provide pro bono services to your assigned clients after this event.

Examples of the types of non-profits these events have helped in the past include:

  • An organization that empowers young mothers to complete their high school and post-secondary education and nurtures their children’s development
  • An organization that supported low-income families during the pandemic by distributing packages of education essentials
  • An organization that works on behalf of low-income immigrants and refugees through advocacy, education, legal services, and other community-based services

We will close the day with the "Hard to Get" CLE Happy Hour,  Cozen O'Connor will host a wine & cheese reception at your desk and offer "DEI and DEIA.......R.I.P.?", 1.0 hour Specialty MCLE, Implicit Bias.

Details:

Registration price of $850 includes a full day of CLEs, World of Color Experience, and two hotel nights (8/29/25-8/30/25) at the Grand California Resort at Disneyland.  Note that the hotel price does NOT include tax and fees assessed by the Hotel.  Room upgrades and extended stays are available at your own additional expense.  Reservations are first-come, first-served and fully refundable until June 5th, after which there is a 50% non-refundable fee. If you cancel after July 4th, there will be no refunds.  If you know someone or if we are able to find someone to take your reservation, we will refund your registration price, assuming the ACC California Chapters are not assessed any fees for the transfer or cancellation. 

Park tickets are not included in the registration price. After registering, you will receive an email with a link to buy discounted park tickets or reserve extra hotel nights.
