    • Explore trends in patent litigation, including recent statistics showing an uptick in patent litigation. We will also discuss several hot button issues such as the ongoing venue battles between Judge Albright in the Western District of Texas and the Federal Circuit, patentability under section 101, and the question of inventorship in the age of artificial intelligence. Then we will touch upon the benefits of using the U.S. International Trade Commission (or “ITC”), a lesser-known quasi-judicial agency that adjudicates IP disputes and offers effective remedies at a much faster pace than our over-burdened federal court system.

Our presenters will include Dennis Burke who is the former U.S. Attorney for the District of Arizona and has more than 20 years of experience in federal and state government. The other presenter will be Mark Kokanovich who was a former federal prosecutor and served as Assistant U.S. Attorney for over 7 years. Both have handled a many internal investigations on behalf of businesses and individuals. They will likely also touch upon how in-house counsel should respond to search warrants.
