The regulatory world of export controls may seem far removed from many other types of practice.  The truth however is that lawyers must know the basics of export controls especially as export control laws are evolving to catch-up with advancing technologies.  The Government is more worried than ever about emerging and foundational technologies falling into the wrong hands.  This presentation will provide “just the facts” on what attorneys need to know about export controls and this rapidly changing landscape.

DGS COVID-19 Town Hall - Live Video Webinar Series: Returning to the Workplace

The CDC has issued interim guidance for businesses to plan and respond to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) but what should employers consider as we return to the workplace.  Amidst all the controversy and uncertainty as to when both “essential” and “non-essential” businesses will reopen, one thing is certain – all businesses who have survived the crisis will reopen. This live video webinar will focus on some of the employment law issues and challenges that employers will need to assess.

Brett Painter, Partner, Davis Graham & Stubbs

As state and local governments are unveiling their return-to-work plans, employers are anxious to resume operations and get employees back to the workplace. During this webinar, Littler's Denver attorneys will present an overview of the employment and labor law issues to take into consideration as your organization evaluates the possibility of reopening in Colorado.

We'll answer the key questions facing employers, such as:

  • Can we reopen?
    • State and local reopening policies, guidelines and procedures including Colorado's Safer At Home Order
  • Should we reopen?
    • Evaluating space planning and logistics required for the “socially distant" workplace
    • Possible WARN traps associated with a reopening followed by a reclosing
    • Contingency planning for future shutdowns
  • How do we reopen?
    • Identifying core staffing levels and procedures for recalling workers
    • Providing a safe environment including temperature checks, face masks, screening/testing and distancing
    • Providing leave, certifying fitness for duty and other issues with returning to work.

Speakers:
Alan L. McLaughlin, Office Managing Shareholder, Littler
Zoe M. Argento, Shareholder, Littler
Stephen E. Baumann II, Associate, Littler
David C. Gartenberg, Associate, Littler

• How can I manage working in a high stress environment?
• How do we make sure that all the energy we put out for others doesn’t deplete us?
• How does health impact your performance? Why do we allow health to take a backseat?
• How do we sharpen our own toolkit to help be at our best?
• Best practices for managing stress and self-care

Being a leader requires a constant stream of energy. We are faced with continuous demands from the business, people, personal obligations, travel schedules, and there is constant pressure to be "on." How do we make sure that all the energy we put out for others doesn’t deplete us? We are often focused on helping develop our businesses, but what about sharpening our own toolkit to help be at our best?

How does health impact your performance? Why do we allow health to often take a backseat to other imperatives? Vitality is the typically overlooked foundation and needs to be re-prioritized. The model of driving yourself into the ground is not sustainable and certainly not the future of our communities or companies. In order to be at our best, we need to bring our whole selves to the table. Come learn in this workshop the connection between how we lead from within and the impact it has on our performance and lives.

During this session you will:

  • Get connected to your vision for health and learn why it is so essential for resonant change and leadership performance.
  • You will leave with more knowledge around nutrition, practical mindfulness, stress management and connected leadership.
  • Gain new tools and ways to make changes right away that impact your personal health, leadership, team and organization.
