Two of the biggest cybersecurity threats facing companies today are ransomware attacks and business email compromises (BECs).  Ransomware attacks can lead to millions of dollars in costs and the loss of highly sensitive data. BECs are increasingly used as a source of fraudulent wire transfers, which create potential liability and loss of funds.  And to top it off, the plaintiff’s bar is keeping an eye out on data breaches and other privacy issues.

Our speakers will identify the key legal issues and provide practical advice on steps in-house counsel can take to help their companies minimize the risks associated with ransomware and BEC.  Learn the steps you need to implement now to reduce litigation risks associated with these everyday occurrences.

These issues aren't going away anytime soon, and are increasing in frequency and exposure, so you won't want to miss this webinar.

This webcast, featuring B&D attorneys John Cruden, Brook Detterman, Allyn Stern, and Meghan Morgan, will feature a high-level overview of the environmental priorities of the Biden-Harris administration.

Keying in on what has happened in the first 90 days and what is on the horizon, this panel will discuss what areas legal departments should be most concerned with, as well as what legislation/regulations to expect in the near future.  Our panel will provide personal insights on some of the cabinet appointees and other leaders, e.g., B&D alumna Brenda Mallory, who was just confirmed to lead the White House's Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) as its 12th Chairperson, and how those individuals will be poised to help carry out the Biden agenda.

For a preview of potential action items for companies, B&D has compiled an outline organized by subject-specific practice areas in this article.

Please plan to register today, and invite your in-house counsel colleagues, EH&S professionals, and business leaders at your companies.

RSVP below.  Logon address will be provided 24 hours in advance of the webinar.

The role of legal operations continues to be elevated within corporate legal as departments of all sizes expand capabilities, and infrastructure needs for in-house counsel grow.  In-house legal spending increased 13% from 2018 to 2020* and 61% of legal departments now employ at least one legal operations professional, a 39.4% increase since 2015.

With the increased investment in and emphasis on legal operations comes added responsibility and expectations to deliver on the promise of creating greater efficiency in corporate legal.

In-house counsel along with their operations colleagues are invited to join ACC Northeast and FTI for this important webinar.  For anyone new to this legal operations role, or those with increased responsibility, creating efficiencies by focusing on technology modernization will help deliver value in 2021.  Deana Uhl, Managing Director at FTI Consulting, and MaryBeth Blair, Legal Operations Director at UNFI will describe how best to actively engage in this modernization effort in order to help shape your departments' future and help you become true strategic partners in the business.

Areas of focus for this discussion will include:

  • Identifying and assessing existing business processes and technology infrastructure;
  • Legal operations and in-house counsel alignment on future state roadmaps, dependencies, and budget;
  • Developing key metrics and ROI;
  • Selecting and deploying technologies and supporting processes.

Register below.  Dial-in will be sent 24 hours prior to the webinar.
