Experience: None required
Training: 1 hour training provided via self-scheduled video. 30 minute Q&A session will precede the clinic.
Support: Work in teams; experts available.
Time: Limited to 2 hours, with no ongoing commitment
Work: During the Covid-19 health pandemic, more low income Marylanders are realizing the need for the creation of estate planning documents. Having a simple will, advanced directive or power of attorney can give peace of mind to clients and have a significant impact on the distribution of assets upon their death. Under the guidance of Maryland Legal Aid, pro bono volunteers will be able to quickly and effectively prepare these essential documents for clients. Client information will be gathered in advance and training and document templates will provided. Prior estate planning experience is not needed.
Insurance: Provided by Maryland Legal Aid for all volunteers.
