Organizations of all sizes have started to recognize an interconnected yet disparate world of Data Privacy. Once an issue for global organizations, corporations and law firms now have to navigate a patchwork of State level Data Privacy provisions. Beyond the State level, several relevant Federal Statutes also have Data Privacy provisions that may reach deeply into many entities. This program is designed as a survey of the enacted State level Data Privacy laws and the identification of states about to enact new legislation. We will also provide an overview of some of the more prominent requirements in the EU and what global companies need to consider to be GDPR compliant. Finally, we will finish the presentation with a “Top 5” discussion on areas where North Carolina organizations should focus their attention to stay ahead of their Data Privacy responsibilities.

Questions often arise when goods are sold by exchange of forms (such as purchase orders, order confirmations, and invoices) between the buyer and seller. Both the existence and content of the resulting contract are sometimes questioned in such situations. Misunderstandings of this fundamental process can lead to unanticipated – and sometimes unfavorable – results when disputes later arise from the use of competing forms. This presentation is designed to serve as a refresher on the basics of this “battle of the forms” and to provide practical guidance about ways to avoid including unexpected terms in a contract for the sale of goods.

gates open at 5:35 pm

food available 6:05-8:05

game time is 6:35

Plus Fireworks!

Please join us on Friday, August 12 in the 3rd Base Party Deck of the Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham to watch the Durham Bulls play the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp. These are the best seats in the house: our own private space with a perfect view of the game from the 3rd base line, protected from the weather and with a lovely cross breeze. We've reserved the entire space for our event just like past years so there will be plenty of room and many seats. We'll serve a buffet dinner, BBQ style. And bring your whole family - all are invited including significant others. Following the game, there will be the Friday night fireworks display. So come and enjoy the game, network with friends and have fun with the family.

This is a members-only event and there is no cost. We do, however, have to give a count to the stadium and get tickets for everyone 6 and over so please:

Register in advance by sending your name to marvin@genzer.org with the number of tickets required - children under 6 do not require tickets.

While we will not be enforcing any rules, we strongly encourage all eligible attendees to be fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19.

Tickets will be available at the will-call window. Please have ID.
