Employers have dealt with a variety of workplace challenges over the past several years. One phenomenon that employers are dealing with is a surge of political and social activism in the workplace. Individuals across the country are voicing opinions in what can only be described as a highly polarized political environment. Many of these opinions reflect passionate views held by employees concerning race relations, vaccination and firmly held political beliefs. Employees express these viewpoints both on social media, in the workplace and occasionally during working hours. So how should employers continue to balance business operations with the reality of increased employee social activism and polarization?

This presentation provides employers with tools to understand and address activism and polarization in the workplace. More importantly, this presentation will outline the role employers play in reversing the course of polarization and helping employees find their interconnectedness through shared values in the workplace.
