The ACC Georgia Chapter welcomes Drew Eckl & Farnham, LLP whose Partner, Sandra Cho, and Christina Jay, Senior Counsel at BlueLinx Corporation, will present “Inside Out – Casual Discussion Between In-house and Outside Counsels About Effectively Controlling Exposure in Workers’ Compensation Claims”. A simple oversight or mistake at the very outset can spiral into very expensive and lengthy workers’ compensation claims for employers. An engaging discussion between the presenters will offer tips to mitigate risk and loss and explore how collaboration between legal and human resources can be helpful, as well as other ideas for protecting the competitive edge of your business. Working knowledge of this area can be important for any in-house legal generalist.

Speakers
For almost 26 years, Sandra Cho has been at Drew Eckl & Farnham and was the first female Asian-American to make partner in a large firm in Atlanta. Her practice focuses solely on workers’-compensation defense before the State Board of Workers’ Compensation and in the superior and appellate courts.
At the firm, she has served as the Hiring Partner, and Chairs for the Hiring & Recruiting Committee, and Diversity Committee. Later this year, she will speak at the Driving Diversity in Law & Leadership Summit in Atlanta and is an active member of GAPABA (Georgia Asian Pacific American Bar Association) where she sits on the Nominations Committee.
Christina Jay serves as Senior Counsel at BlueLinx Corporation, a national building material distributor based out of the Atlanta area. At BlueLinx, Christina oversees all aspects of litigation, including transportation and trucking, products liability, employment, complex commercial litigation, and worker’s compensation claims. Previously, Christina worked in-house in the construction industry and defended corporations in the area of civil litigation at Drew Eckl & Farnham.
