ESG is top of mind for businesses and, consequently, their counsel. Once a business gets past “what” ESG is, it still is faced with “how” to do it. That is further complicated by an ever-growing patchwork of regulatory frameworks at the international, federal, state and even municipal levels; anti-ESG efforts underway at both the federal and state levels; and a rise in greenwashing enforcement actions and litigation. This presentation will look at what ESG is—including, in particular, intersections with DEI—and what counsel can do to help businesses get through the “what” and “how” of ESG.

The concept of taking up space can sound abstract. The ways in which women are expected to play small are not abstract, however. In our personal and professional life trajectories we adjust and adapt to our environments on the path to our definitions of success. What helps? What hurts? What used to help but now hurts? In this interactive session we will identify barriers to the glass (and bamboo and concrete) ceiling, the challenges to falling off the glass cliff, and concrete strategies on taking up space as wholehearted women. Finally, this session will include some somatic practices we can use as we navigate becoming our best and freest selves.
