Corporate governance considerations are rapidly expanding beyond stock exchange requirements and SEC check-the-box disclosures. The new expectations affect public and private companies. At its core, the trends force corporate boards and their advisers to consider complex and varied community and societal goals relative to profit maximization through understanding stakeholder expectations.

On Wednesday, July 12, we’ll be discussing where we are and what's next for Environmental, Social & Corporate Governance (ES&G). Our discussion will center on existing requirements and changing trends, focusing on:

 ·       Corporate governance considerations (10 minutes)

·       Reporting frameworks (10 minutes)

·       Third-party assurance on ES&G metrics (10 minutes)

·       Current and possible future SEC expectations (10 minutes)

·       ES&G and M&A (10 minutes)

·       Legal liability for ES&G reports (10 minutes)

We encourage members to bring an associate or colleague that may be interested in joining the ACC Mid-America Chapter. The Association of Corporate Counsel offers numerous benefits and resources to in-house counsel including CLE offerings and networking opportunities and we look forward to sharing that information with others in the field.
