This session will explore how GCs are striking a balance between how their departments operate efficiently, provide effective advice, enable business growth, and protect the business from risk, particularly in the midst of macroeconomic factors which continue to shift the ground under general counsel, such as a changing regulatory environment, the uncertainty of generative AI (and pressure from CEOs and Boards of Directors to use it), and continued increases in costs for outside counsel.
As a group, we will explore key questions as well as metrics to consider.

The session will highlight strategies for identifying and addressing key concerns in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts. You’ll also gain insights for managing risk when dealing with counterparties facing financial distress, management transition, bankruptcy, or receivership. Walk away with the confidence to navigate contract negotiations and minimize potential pitfalls.
