Program Overview:

As companies start planning to reopen and return to the workplace, what are the issues leaders should think about and incorporate into their plans? How has COVID-19 changed the workplace going forward?

This webinar will answer these questions and address the issues keeping employers up at night as they plan to reopen, including changing workplace safety requirements, managing employee safety concerns, employer liability for sick employees, recall planning issues and employees who refuse to return, WARN Act considerations, and managing the new FFCRA benefits. Questions received from participants will be answered near the end of the webinar.

Speakers:

Gary Clark, Partner: (312) 715-5040 / gary.clark@quarles.com

Kelly Lyon Davis, Partner: (239) 659-5066 / kelly.davis@quarles.com

Christopher Nickels, Partner: (414) 277-5519 / christopher.nickels@quarles.com

Who Should Attend: This training is designed for HR professionals, in-house counsel, executives, compliance officers and hiring managers.  Please feel free to share this invitation.

Join ACC Chicago and Gold Sponsor Dinsmore attorney Sean Price for a roundtable discussion on software licenses and cloud computing agreements. During the event, we will outline basic characteristics of these agreements and focus on helping in-house counsel identify the greatest areas of risk. We will also discuss and offer practical guidance on how a party’s leverage affects negotiations, and in doing so, we will try to zero in on the various strategies licensees and licensors of technology use to minimize risks.

Come prepared to discuss the following questions:

  1. What areas of risk are most important to control and how do you minimize those risks?
  2. How do you translate the risks associated with cloud computing agreements to business clients?
  3. What strategies do you use when the other side seems to have all of the negotiating leverage?  How do you deal with a bad deal?
  4. What strategies do you use when the party on the other side of the contract seems financially unstable?
  5. How do you deal with terms in agreements that can change without notice?

Please join ACC Chicago Gold Sponsor, Neal Gerber and Eisenberg for a 60-minute virtual roundtable discussion led by Intellectual Property partner, David Wheeler, on Data Privacy Predictions and Important Regulations. He will discuss the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and explain why businesses should review the entire draft regulations and integrate them into their CCPA compliance efforts. David will also lead an active conversation with participants exploring predictions for states like Illinois, New York and Washington ... and whether they will pass legislation similar to the CCPA in 2020.

Join ACC Chicago and Platinum Sponsor Eversheds Sutherland labor and employment attorneys for an interactive, roundtable discussion on post-COVID-19 re-entry planning.

While federal and state officials have started to issue guidelines on re-entry, employers need to craft their re-entry plans now, and have largely been left without guidance on how to do so.

Eversheds Sutherland partners Scott McLaughlin (US) and Jennifer Van Dale (Hong Kong) will lead this interactive, roundtable discussion on what re-entry looks like in the US, and what lessons can be learned from jurisdictions in Asia that have already begun the re-entry process. Topics of discussion will include:

  • Implementing workplace controls, including:
  • Engineering controls
  • Administrative controls
  • Safe work practices
  • PPE
  • Preferred measures for
  • Reducing risk of transmission in the workplace
  • Workers caring for or exposed to COVID-19
  • Managing the impact of school closures
  • Vulnerable or high risk populations
