Join us for a two-part webinar series on the COVID-19 employment issues facing businesses now and the steps businesses can take to minimize their exposure to liability.
Part 1 — Returning to In-Office Work: Key Employment Law Issues That Employers Should Consider Now
With all adults in the United States now eligible for the vaccine, businesses face the challenge of addressing employment issues involved in a return to the office. Businesses need to anticipate and protect against the litigation threats related to a return to in-office work. In this webinar, we will discuss:
• vaccine “dos and don’ts”;
• discrimination and accommodation issues related to vaccines and in-office work;
• COVID-19 screening, testing, and contact tracing;
• whether in-office masking and social distancing are still required;
• how to navigate conflicting federal, state, and local requirements; and
• frequently asked questions related to COVID-19 and in-office work.
Wisconsin, like many states, has struggled to attract diverse business professionals to work in the state. The legal industry has experienced this struggle along with other Wisconsin-based businesses. Corporate general counsel in Wisconsin have launched an effort to examine this issue, partnering with a large Wisconsin university to collect and evaluate consistent, baseline data from their own legal departments and Milwaukee-based law firms, with a goal of using that information
as a starting point in a collaborative effort to make substantive change.
Our panel will discuss the efforts that have taken place to date and will examine ways that the ACC-Wisconsin members can engage in this effort, including by partnering with their own outside counsel. The ultimate goal is to create pathways for success that can attract and retain diverse legal professionals in rewarding careers in Wisconsin.
Join James Brandell, Government Policy Advisor at Dykema, for an informative update on the Biden administration’s proposed legislation and policy initiatives affecting businesses. He will further discuss the landscape in Washington, DC, currently, as well as Congressional and Administration priorities through the remainder of 2021 with a specific focus on various policy proposals affecting tax, infrastructure, energy, government investigations and much more. Attendees can pose questions regarding federal issues affecting their business and gain insights to prepare them for future regulatory or legislative challenges. Please send any questions before the program toatrevino@dykema.comfor them to be addressed during this informative program.
Whether you take chocolate seriously or not, you can certainly have fun comparing taste notes with other ACC MN members at our June Networking Social via Zoom.
Are you a fan of milk chocolate, or do you crave 99% cocoa content?
What's your favorite beverage to pair with chocolate?
Did you know there are documented health benefits to eating (high quality) chocolate?
Or perhaps you couldn’t care less—just give me some chocolatey goodness, please!
Join us for a brief presentation and—perhaps even more satisfying—a chocolate tasting led by Chris Huset, owner of Legacy Chocolates in downtown Saint Paul. Afterwards, stay awhile longer to mix and mingle in Zoom's breakout rooms.
Register by Wednesday, June 9, to receive an assortment of chocolates from this artisanal local producer to sample during the tasting on June 24, beginning at 5:00 PM.
The program is open to ACC members and in-house counsel guests. Program admission is free for ACC members.

Bell Nunnally PartnerHeath Cheeklooks at the hit TV show,Ted Lasso, and the numerous leadership and ethical lessons to be drawn from it for lawyers.
Ted Lassotells the story of a Kansas college football coach who gets drafted to coach a Premier League "football" (soccer) team in London. Ted uses positivity, kindness, warmth, and humor (attributes not normally associated with lawyers) to coach his team and show that leadership and ethics apply no matter if you're playing football or "football" or even serving as an in house counsel.
The presentation will show how these lessons apply to lawyers and are required under our ethical rules and the Texas Lawyers Creed.
Editor's Note: Haven't seen the show? It's available on Apple TV and definitely worth watching.
