Intro to Litigation Finance for IP Cases and More

We invite you to join us for a CLE presentation for small in-house legal department members on hidden financial opportunities in litigation finance. Litigation funding is particularly appropriate for startup and small capitalization companies who typically might not have the financial resources to enforce their IP or other litigious matters.  This panel will discuss what “litigation finance” is and, when it is available, how litigation finance can open doors for companies that otherwise might not be able to leverage existing IP assets. The panel will also discuss typical terms of an IP funding deal and what to look for in negotiating terms and selecting counsel for these types of deals.

Now more than ever it is critical for in-house lawyers to show their value, along with that of the legal department. A critical skill is being able to speak the language of business – numbers. While you may not need an MBA, you can definitely show how much of a superstar you are if you know the basics of corporate finance.

What you’ll learn:
•    The basics of corporate finance;
•    The difference between a cash flow statement, balance sheet, and P&L;
•    Key terms and important formulas that give insight into how the business is operating;
•    A lot more!

This is also a great refresher for those of us who are already familiar with the basics.
