We miss you! We know that many of you aren’t back in the city, so we thought we’d come to you instead. We’re launching a series of small, casual, COVID-safe, neighbourhood catch-ups across Melbourne (and beyond) in the coming weeks, and we’re holding the first in Carlton North on Thursday, 11 March. Come over for a drink and chat, we’d love to see you.

The event is free for ACC members (drinks are self-funded) but we do ask that you register as it is a venue requirement, and numbers are capped. If Carlton North is a bit of a hike from your home base, keep a look out in this What’s Happening newsletter as we have future pop-up events planned around Melbourne.

The training is a combination of self-paced online training modules (8) and virtual workshops.  The virtual workshops are three hours in duration, four days a week for two weeks.
The Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) In -house Counsel Certification Program covers the core competencies that are applied by corporate counsel professionals. ACC Certification draws on the collective knowledge and experience of ACC’s global membership to identify what is essential to a successful in-house practice worldwide. Course participants will learn how to:

  • Translate legal knowledge into business solutions that meet client expectations.
  • Build the emotional intelligence and people management skills necessary for navigating the unique culture of their organisation.
  • Deploy value-based policies, along with effective employee training, to help protect their organisation from legal liability.
  • Implement tech-forward processes that can take their legal operations to a new level of efficiency.
  • Articulate, as well as demonstrate, the value of the law department.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: DATE & FORMAT CHANGE

ACC Australia, in consultation with the ACC Australia Victoria Committee and other key stakeholders, has made the difficult decision to defer the Victorian In-House Counsel Day to Wednesday July 28, and to make it a completely virtual format.

We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this decision may cause.

For those that had already registered for the event and haven't received an email from the events team please contact ausevents@accglobal.com.

Registrations for the new date will reopen in the coming days with the program currently being confirmed.

If 2020 was known as the year where there was no business as usual, where legal teams were forced to rethink and retool, then let’s decide now that 2021 will be known as the year to reconnect, reimagine and realign.

Your 2021 In-House Counsel Day program centres around topics and a networking space that provide opportunities to:

  • reconnect with your in-house colleagues and industry peers
  • reimagine legal practices in the new normal and,
  • realign with your company and personal goals.

In 2021, reposition yourself as an in-house lawyer of influence by learning more about crisis and stakeholder management, legal operations, how to add value to commercial conversations and much, much more.

The 2021 In-House Counsel Day promises to have something for everyone. Plenary sessions with industry experts, smaller break-out sessions catering to specialist interest groups such as Chief Legal Officers, New to In-house and those who are Sole Legal Officers.  You will hear from in-house peers who will share their career experiences. You will be offered practical content to take back to your workplace and put into action. Remember, the conference program is developed by in-house lawyers for in-house lawyers.

The Victorian chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Australia has a proud history of providing quality conference days for the in-house legal profession, and our 2021 conference will be no different.

For more information, including program and pricing, visit our event website.

Early Bird closes 6pm Friday May 7 with group rates available.
