Founded in 1981, the Westside Food Bank (WSFB) provides nutritious food for approximately 72,000 households, which equates to 153,000 people in need. In the aftermath of the catastrophic fires, WSFB is seeing a surge in need as it is one of the main food banks for the fire locations. ACC-SoCal is proud to volunteer with WSFB to help our community. This event will take place at WSFB, located at 1914 14th Street, Santa Monica, CA 90404 (between Pico and Michigan). Volunteers will be working in an assembly line fashion, and duties could include assembling and taping boxes, reviewing box menu item stations, opening cases of food products, inserting items into the boxes, quality control checking, sealing boxes, stacking boxes onto pallets, breaking down boxes and tidying up the work area. WSFB will match volunteers with jobs that suit their abilities. BCLP (Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner) will be sponsoring breakfast burritos from La Purépecha before the volunteering event. La Purépecha is a family-run local business in Santa Monica offering free warm meals to the brave Los Angeles and Santa Monica Fire Departments and all first responders. This event is open to ACC members and their families. Community hour sign-off is available.
