The Current Landscape of Immigration Law in Minnesota and How You Can Make an Impact
Saul Ewing is proud to host a conversation on immigration law in Minnesota at a time when policies and practices are in flux. With panelists from Immigration Law Center of Minnesota and Advocates for Human Rights, we hope to shine a light on how they are making an impact on behalf of their clients, the struggles they have faced on behalf of clients this year, and ways that in-house counsel can make an impact through pro bono services.

PRESENTERS

Tracy Roy, Legal Director, Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota (ICLM)

Theresa Dykoschak, Pro Bono Director, Advocates for Human Rights

Katie Barrett Wiik, Litigation Partner and Chair of Saul Ewing's Pro Bono Committee (Moderator)

AGENDA

4:00 PM - 4:30 PM | Attendee check-in

4:30 PM - 5:30 PM | CLE program

5:30 PM - 7:00 PM | Post-program discussion and refreshments

DONATIONS SOUGHT

Monetary donations to ILCM and The Advocates for Human Rights will be welcomed, to help support their important work and to help their clients offset new and increased immigration-related filing fees.

Attendees are also invited to bring tangible donations that are in high-need within the refugee and immigrant communities served by these organizations. These include

  • Baby diapers
  • Feminine hygiene/period products
  • Bus cards
  • Gift cards for Target, Walmart, grocery stores (Aldi, Cub, etc.)
  • Culturally appropriate shelf-stable foods. ILCM gets a lot of requests for food support, including rice, pinto beans, cooking oil, bouillon, onions, garlic, kohlrabi, canned fish or chicken, mung beans, soy sauce, fish or oyster sauce. Consider frequenting Latino grocery stores or Asian grocery stores, which has the bonus impact of helping local businesses that have been struggling due to fewer folks going out shopping in community due to fear of ICE enforcement.

Thank you for your generosity!

Convenient free parking abounds in the adjacent ramps. Admission is free and open to ACC members and to in-house counsel first-time guests. 1.0 Standard CLE credit is pending in Minnesota.

Thanks to our sponsor, Saul Ewing!
