“An ACC-SoCal Tradition – MCLE Lunch at Morton’s “Recent War Stories on Insurance Coverage and How Has Business Litigation Changed Because of the Pandemic?” presented by Steven Brower of the Brower Law Group. Steve, who has been a sponsor for about 15 years, is known for his fast-paced and entertaining (but highly substantive) presentations. Enjoy a great lunch while you hear war stories about trends in insurance coverage, plus a bonus discussion about how business litigation has changed as a result of the pandemic and how you need to change your approach to managing litigation.

The do’s and don’ts of internal company communications as they relate to anticipated and unexpected litigation. The presentation will use ‘smoking gun’ email and deposition video examples from the famous DuPont case featured in the movie Dark Waters to display how corporate misconduct can devastatingly play before a jury.

Join fellow ACC MN members via Zoom at Noon on Wednesday, September 29, for a follow-up one-hour discussion of the concepts presented by Tim Velner in his recent Waking Up Work presentation.

Participants are encouraged to think about their answers to the following questions:

  • What is the goal of my organization’s inclusion/diversity program?
  • Is it important to understand another person’s world? If so, why and for whose benefit? If not, why not?

Recommended reading before the event: Rethinking Diversity and Inclusion.

As with all Sounding Board gatherings, previewing the material ahead of time is not necessary to participate. We welcome anyone with interest in this subject and will provide additional questions during the event to generate discussion in small-group breakouts.
