While many organizations may have a privacy and security program in place, a number of dynamics may cause those organizations to consider updates to their program (or cause organizations without a program to now put one in place).  In this session, we will cover what privacy and security considerations are needed as we head into the new regulatory environment in 2023, including new state privacy laws going into effect in 2023.  We will then examine a few discrete issues including privacy by design, ransomware, information sharing (including with government actors), and use of bug bounty programs.

Presented by Randy Sabett, Special Counsel at Cooley, Jerry Howe, Executive Vice President & General Counsel at Leidos, John Delmore, Assistant General Counsel
FBI National Security & Cyber Law Branch, Cyber Law Unit at the FBI, Jay Kramer, Managing Director, National Cyber-Forensics and Training Alliance (NCFTA) and Kaye Cyrus, Corporate Counsel at HealthEdge.

Please join PPSC attorneys at Gravity Heights for an overview of new employment legislation affecting California employers in 2023.  Bring your questions for an interactive session!

The presentation will be followed by tasty cocktails and appetizers.

With the rise in pay transparency and pay reporting laws, activist shareholder proposals, and SEC pay disclosure requirements likely on the horizon, employers need to ensure they are in compliance with a patchwork of new state laws and consider whether and how they will communicate their pay philosophy.

In this session, we will cover changes from this past year in state/local pay reporting laws, laws banning inquiries about prior pay, and laws requiring disclosure of pay in recruiting and other materials. We will also briefly discuss potential changes to SEC disclosure pay disclosure requirements, and provide real-world examples of how shareholder proposals have led to pay disclosure requirements.  With a practical focus for DMV employers, we will discuss best practice recommendations for navigating all of these issues, along with practical tips for reviewing and improving pay equity.

Presented by Carson Sullivan, Partner and Sarah Besnoff, Associate at Paul Hastings and Lesley Marlin, Associate General Counsel at FINRA.

Join ACC St. Louis and Gowling WLG for a closer look at key legal issues that a company may face when expanding outside of the United States.

In the second episode in our First Call Country Series, a panel of UK lawyers from Gowling WLG will be joined by counsel from MiTek, to discuss real-world legal aspects of doing business in the UK.

Drawing on a wealth of experience of advising US based clients, we will explore what differences and difficulties companies, and their counsel, are likely to experience when starting, acquiring or carrying on a business in the UK, and how those issues can be addressed.

We also hope to pick the brains of Amit Shah, General Counsel from MiTek on their story, and to share our views on how we see the UK's legislative regime and economy developing in coming years, after some of the seismic events that we have witnessed recently.

We look forward to seeing you online on Monday, November 21st.

Join ACC St. Louis and Gowling WLG for a closer look at key legal issues that a company may face when expanding outside of the United States.

Expanding a business across borders can be an effective and significant way to increase your company’s customer base, enhance your talent pool and explore new markets.  However, the process may seem daunting as you try to navigate a whole new system of laws and regulations.       Gowling WLG is pleased to present its First Call Country Series in which we will explore key legal issues that a company may face when expanding outside the United States.  In this series we will look at expansion into a number of countries, including Canada, United Kingdom, France, the Middle East and others.

In this Canadian edition, our panel will discuss ways to enter the Canadian market, the flow of money across borders, and issues relating to both the hiring of Canadian employees and the movement of company employees across the border.  We will also explore how to protect your company’s IP in Canada and some unique “Canadian” issues for companies looking to do business in Quebec.

We look forward to seeing you online on Thursday, October 20th.
