Now in its 24th year, the ACC MN General Counsel Forum features a discussion of a hot topic by esteemed local General Counsel. And this year's topic is...

Practical Lessons From Early AI Adventures

AI has rapidly become a “can’t say no” proposition for general counsel. Even if the technology isn’t in use producing work product for the department, GCs and their teams must be ready to advise other business units on AI's uses and potential risks. That means building a basic foundation of understanding of the technologies available and what they can do. Yet recent research indicates that many members of legal teams have not yet received training on AI, nor are many legal departments looking to hire professionals with AI backgrounds. So how confident are today’s legal function leaders in their ability to advise the business on AI-related issues?

This session will share insights from a panel of GCs on what they have done to prepare their departments, what they have found that works, lessons learned for future improvements, and how they have begun to confront the rapidly evolving challenges related to AI implementation both in their departments and in the broader business.
