Whilst the needs of our people will always come first, businesses are continuing, and a “new normal” is beginning to emerge. We are now beginning to think about our exit from the Circuit Breaker and the unique set of challenges this will bring. Our panel will discuss how to respond to what is happening today and explore ways to increase our impact and influence as leaders to get from the “now” to the “new”.

The discussion will be hosted by Morrison & Foerster’s Singapore Managing Partner, Shirin Tang. Shirin will be joined by leadership coach and founder of Courageous Co., Michelle Elstein, who will provide unique insights from her twenty years of experience using new and creative ways to help executives design their futures as credible, influential and resilient business leaders. Michelle’s unique approach inspires, energizes and motivates people to stretch beyond their perceived limits.

The guest panelist is Dipa Swaminathan, Assistant General Counsel of Singtel and founder of the successful social initiative, ItsRainingRaincoats, which aims to improve the welfare of migrant workers in Singapore.

The Singapore International Mediation Centre (SIMC) is pleased to be hosting a lunch time webinar for members of the Association of Corporate Counsel. This session will present in-house counsel and C-suite level executives the opportunity to learn about the challenges and potential pitfalls of managing business risk, including dispute resolution and the benefits of mediation.

The host, SIMC’s CEO Mr Chuan Wee Meng, will be sharing insights on his experience in Greater China when he was the General Counsel of IBM Asia Pacific, and as a user of mediation.

Understanding the scope of dispute resolution options available, and knowing when/how to take advantage of the appropriate tool is key for international businesses to effectively navigate the complexities of cross-border commercial transactions and partnerships.

Drawing on SIMC’s vision, and his own experience as a mediator, Wee Meng will also make the case for the relevance of institutional mediation as a cost- and time-efficient option for businesses to simultaneously advance their own interests and preserve amity in their relationships.
