Overview (Program Summary)

A program hosted by:

ACC Western Pennsylvania

Many employers’ social media policies -- if they exist at all -- have not been adapted for the post-pandemic, remote-work environment. And the lines between on-duty and off-duty are blurred now more than ever. Contemporary social media usage brings risks of harassment in nuanced forms, like trolling, doxing, and brigading. This presentation advocates for social media disaster prevention through development of policies reflecting corporate values and respecting workers’ rights. Our presenters will discuss real life examples, from multiple angles: employees as the bad actor or the victim, knee-jerk behavior from decision makers, and both clear cases and gray areas.
