Marie-Catherine Girouard
Marie-Catherine Girouard has been practicing at Alstom Grid Canada since 2011 in the fields of energy and construction law. Her practice entails the review and negotiation of commercial agreements nationwide. Before joining Alstom Grid, she worked at Canadian National Railway Company and GE Capital, mainly in commercial law. Me Girouard attended law school at the Université de Sherbrooke and was admitted to Quebec Bar Association in 2006. She was greatly involved in the Young Bar Association of Montreal, for which she was member of the board in charge of the continuing education committee for the year 2013-2014.
Christian Khoury
Christian Khoury is the head of Legal/Ethics and Compliance for the Canadian operations of Nutreco, a global leader in animal nutrition and aqua feed, with over 15,000 employees. Prior to that, Christian was working as a Legal Officer Consultant at the United Nations World Food Programme in Rome, advising on aviation, litigation and governance matters. From 2012-2017, Christian was working at the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in Montréal as a Legal Counsel. During that time, he supported IATA’s financial services matters, including the exploration of blockchain technology in the travel industry, airport invoicing & financing, as well as industry settlement systems. Prior to that, and upon admission to the New York Bar, Christian practiced in New York City as an associate in a leading fashion law firm. Before moving to New York, he was working in an international French law firm in Paris, dividing his time between Paris and Shanghai, where he was learning Mandarin. He obtained his L.LB. at Université de Montréal and his LL.M. & J.D. at Université de Sherbrooke. Christian speaks 7 languages and enjoys giving conferences at his Alma Mater.
Alexandra Popa
Mtre Popa began her practice in commercial law in Montreal. From 2009 to 2014, she was a corporate lawyer for Société Générale in Paris and chaired the Association of All Quebec Lawyers in France. Since May 2014, she acts as legal counsel for Ivanhoé Cambridge and is involved in pan-Canadian and international real estate transactions. She is a member of the Council at The Bar of Montreal and a member of the Committee of In-House Counsels at the Barreau du Québec. Barreau 2008, Mtre Popa completed a Juris Doctor in Common Law in 2009 and passed the examinations of the New York Bar in 2015. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the ACC Quebec Division since May 2016.
